DJCT 97B 2012 National Cup Semi-Finalist

DJCT 97B concluded an excellent spring season finishing third in 2012 National Cup Western District, just shy of a State berth! Having gone undefeated in DI last fall, the boys continued their undefeated streak winning this spring's State Classic League qualifying tournament. Tournament was further highlighted by the fact that they played to a tie with only 9 players in their first game. They subsequently won the championship game the following morning in a come-from-behind, 4-2, win with only 10 players!

Last fall, the DJCT 97B boys set a WDDOA DI scoring record with a goal differential of (+25), giving up only (7) goals! This spring, the boys finished their first ever National Cup ahead of the team that finished as last fall's Region III Premier League runner's-up! 98B Finish 2011-2012 Undefeated; National Cup Western District Champions

The DJCT 98B concluded their Spring 2012 league campaign undefeated and captured the USYS National Cup Western District title, advancing to the USYS State Cup May 26-28 in Houston, TX.  

The 98B completed their Fall 2011 season undefeated as well to complete a full year without a league loss. Earlier this Spring, the U14's topped their South Texas Classic League (SCL) qualifying group undefeated, getting promoted to SCL play for Fall 2012.

99B and 96G Advance to President's Cup State Championships

The 99B won their bracket playoff game 6-2 against Celtic 99 Elite (Harlingen, TX) and the 96G beat Lonestars 96G Red East (San Antonio) in penalty kicks (5-3) to advance to the STYSA President's Cup State Championship playoffs May 19-20 in San Marcos, TX.

The 99's will play the Dynamo Juniors U13 Orange (McAllen, TX) team in a winner-take-all state championship match.  The winner of the title match advances to President's Cup Region III Championships on June 7-10 in Greensboro, NC.  The Dynamo Juniors U13 Orange are also an official youth affiliate of the Houston Dynamo based in the Valley... read more

U9/U10 Academy Teams Finish Strong at Force Academy Cup

DJCT's U9/U10 Academy teams concluded their Spring 2012 season over the May 12-13 weekend with a number of teams at the Force Rec Plus Academy Cup in Georgetown.  

The following teams came back with 1st or 2nd place showings:

03G North - Champions (Gold flight) 03G South - Champions (Silver flight) 02G - Champions (Gold flight) 03B Ching - 2nd place (Silver flight)   Congrats on a great Spring 2012 season for all Academy players - look forward to '02's moving to U11 select and the '03's back in Academy for the Fall 2012 season.

99B and 96G Advance to President's Cup Bracket Playoffs

The 99B and 96G both finished their Spring league play undefeated (5-0) and top of their respective President's Cup brackets.  Both teams will travel to San Antonio for bracket playoffs on May 5-6.  Bracket playoffs pits four teams in a semifinal/finals format, with the top two teams advancing to the President's Cup State Championships on May 19-20 in San Marcos, TX.  Teams advancing to state championships will be looking to capture a state title and advance to the President's Cup Region III Regional Championships June 7-10 in Greensboro, NC.

Corey Holton Accepts Head Coaching Position at Worcester Polytechnic Institute

DJCT coach Corey Holton has accepted the position of head women's soccer coach at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Worcester, MA.  Holton, who serves as the head coach for the DJCT 95G team and the co-director of the DJCT College Exposure Program, resigned as head coach of Concordia University after three seasons in charge of the Tornadoes.  At Concordia, Holton was named 2011 American Southwest Conferences Coach of the Year and set the Concordia mark for mosts wins in a season (14). Holton will finish out the remainder of the Spring 2012 season with DJCT.  DJCT would like to thank Corey for her great work with the club and wish her well in her new coaching position.

DJCT Players Play in Prestigious Dallas Cup

Three '99 birth year DJCT players, Kyle M., Luke T. and Marcello M., guest played with our affiliated Houston Dynamo STX Juniors '99 team (based in McAllen) at the Dallas Cup this past week, in one of the top youth soccer events in the world.

  The Dallas Cup, which is the oldest international youth soccer tournament in the United States and celebrates its 33rd year this year, pitted the Dynamo STX Juniors '99's against Club Universidad Nacional (Mexico), Crewe Alexandra (England) and Nomads Academy (California). DJCT Players Heading to ODP Region III Camp

Congratulations to our DJCT players who were selected for the 2012 South Texas Olympic Development Program (ODP) State Team in their respective age group.  These players will represent South Texas ODP at the Region III ODP Camp this July. The boys will attend camp at the University of Alabama and the girls at the University of Montevallo (AL).  The S. Texas state teams will have five days of games and training against other Region III state teams.  Players will be looking to get selected to the Region III ODP pool.

98B & 97B Finish 1st in SCL Qualifying Tournament

DJCT's 98B and 97B teams continued their impressive first seasons as both the U14's and U15's finished undefeated and won their respective groups for the Fall 2012 South Texas Classic League (SCL) qualifying in Houston March 24-25.  The 1st place finish places the two teams in the Fall 2012 SCL level of play, which is a league comprised of the top 6+ teams from all of South Texas Youth Soccer and sits above the local Division I leagues.

DJCT 94B Devin Fontenot Commits to Trinity University

DJCT 94 Boys player Devin Fontenot has committed to play soccer at Trinity University in San Antonio starting in the fall of 2012.  The Trinity University Tigers are a perennial national power in NCAA Division III winning the SCAC Championship 14 of the last 16 years and reaching the NCAA Tournament 15 of the last 16 years.  Coached by Paul McGinlay, Trinity has made three final four appearances winning the national championship in 2003 and finishing as runners up in 2007.  The Tigers completed an undefeated regular season (14-0-2) in 2011 and were ranked as high as number 4 in the NCAA Division III National rankings... read more

DJCT Player Austin Doyle Commits to play at UT-Tyler

DJCT 94B player Austin Doyle has committed to play college soccer at the University of Texas-Tyler starting in the Fall 2012 season.  The Patriots are coming off one of their best seasons ever as they advanced to the NCAA Elite 8 in the DIII playoffs in 2011.  UT-Tyler, coached by Kenny Jones, finished with a 18-3-2 overall record and a 10-1-1 record in the ASC.  The Patriots won the conference's regular season championship as well as the ASC tournament at year's end.  UT Tyler, which has made the NCAA tournament three of the past four season, advanced all the way to the National Quarter-finals before falling to Calvin, 3-2 in double-overtime... read more

99B Finish 2nd at 31st Annual Dynamos Puma Cup

The DJCT 99B team came in 2nd place at the Dynamos Puma Cup in Houston over the Feb. 11-12th weekend.  The team breezed through group play with a 3-0 record, outscoring their opponents 13-2 in the 3 matches.  The ‘99’s beat a pair of Houstonian teams as they bested the ’00 Red Houstonians 4-1 and the ’00 Houstonians 3-1.  

The team played its’ best game against the host club’s Dynamos U13B Gold team, topping them 6-0 in advancing to the final.  In the final, DJCT fell 3-0 to the Houston Texans 99B East team.

95/94B Show Well at College Showcase Tournament

The DJCT 95/94 combined boys team attended the 12th Annual Texas Blue Chip College Showcase event February 4-5 in Houston.  Over 90 College & University coaches representing NCAA DIV I, II, III, & NAIA programs from across the country were in attendance throughout the entire weekend.  The team played extremely well in their Saturday game versus the Quest United 94 team in an unfortunate 1-0 loss.  The Dynamo combined 95/94 team dominated play and created substantially more chances, but came up against a very good keeper who managed to keep them from scoring.  In their Sunday game, the Dynamo dominated Texans Aggieland 94 Red team in a comfortable 4-0 win... read more

U9/U10 Academy Forms 16 Teams for Spring 2012

DJCT formed four additional teams for a total of 16 teams in the U9 and U10 Academy.  Over 140 players will participate in the DJCT U9/U10 Academy program this Spring 2012 season.  This Spring all DJCT Academy players will have a unique opportunity due to Dynamo Juniors’ partnership with Avila Creative Soccer and Austin Sports Academy. DJCT players will get an indoor, small-group training session, to focus on technical skill development on Mondays as part of their fees. Dynamo Juniors' Weekend Announced

The annual Dynamo Juniors weekend is taking place Aug. 3-5, 2012 in Houston. Dynamo Juniors of Central Texas (DJCT) will take our select teams to compete against other Dynamo Juniors programs and attend the Houston Dynamo vs. New York Red Bulls MLS game in the new BBVA Compass Stadium at 7:00 pm Friday, Aug 3,2012.   DJCT will kick off the weekend watching the Houston Dynamo take on Thierry Henry and the New York Red Bulls in their brand-new, soccer-specific 22,000-seat BBVA Compass Stadium. DJCT Players Selected to ODP State Team Pools

Congratulations to our DJCT players who were selected for the 2012 South Texas Olympic Development Program (ODP) State Team Pools for the 1999 & 1998 birth years. Over 150 players tried out Jan. 7-8 in San Antonio for the different age groups/genders. Players are trying to make the final ODP State Team roster and attend the ODP Region III Camp this summer. The 1997-1995 age groups try out on Jan. 22nd in San Antonio.

DJCT Staff Coaches Holton & Chieza Receive Coach of the Year Honors

Corey Holton, head women's soccer coach at Concordia University and staff coach for Dynamo Juniors of Central Texas, was named Coach of the Year for the American Southwest Conference (ASC).  Holton's honors came during her third season where she led the Tornados to their best season in school history.  Holton is also a director for the DJCT College Exposure Program and the 95G head coach.Tatenda Chieza, who is the head men's soccer coach at Concordia University, was named a co-Coach of the Year by the ASC after his first season at Concordia.  Coach T led the team to their best season in school history... read more

DJCT partners with Avila Creative Soccer and Austin Sports Academy (ASA)

DJCT has partnered with Avila Creative Soccer and Austin Sports Academy to provide indoor skills-based training once-a-week for all U9/U10 DJCT Academy players for the Spring 2012 season.

U9/U10 Academy players based near the West & North locations will train at the brand new Avila Soccer Lakeway location (1503 FM 620 N, Building 2, Suite D, Lakeway, TX 78734) on Monday nights starting in February in small groups and work exclusively on technical skill development.

DJCT College Exposure Program Announced

Corey Holton and Mike Smith have been named Directors of the Dynamo Juniors of Central Texas' (DJCT) College Exposure Programs for girls and boys, respectively.  The DJCT College Exposure Program is a comprehensive program that will provide information and pathways for our sophomore-senior DJCT players that are interested in playing collegiate soccer. Ormonde and Osbon Named Directors for South/North DJCT Locations

Brian Ormonde and Clint Osbon have been named Directors of the Dynamo Juniors of Central Texas' (DJCT) South and North locations, respectively.  Brian and Clint will serve as the main contact for all aspects of select/academy play at the locations in Dripping Springs and Hutto and will report directly to club DOC, Tim Chestney.Coach Ormonde is currently a DJCT staff coach and the Dripping Springs High School Girl's Head Coach (Ormonde served as the Boy's Head Coach for 10 years prior).  Brian has been involved with youth soccer in the greater Dripping Springs' area for 11 years and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the South location for DJCT... read more

98B DJCT Team Finishes Undefeated for Fall 2011

The DJCT 98B team concluded their WDDOA Fall 2011 season undefeatedand tied for first place with an overall 5-0-3 record.The 98’s ended their Fall league season with a 3-1 win over Lonestars98B White North, losing out on the championship tie-breaker with Force‘98B by two goals, after finishing with an identical record as theGeorgetown club.The top-two finish will qualify the 98B to play in the USYS NationalCup for the Spring 2012 season, against Premier, State Classic Leagueand top DI teams. 

97B DJCT Team Brings Home First Hardware for Club

The Dynamo Juniors of Central Texas (DJCT) 97B team captured theWDDOA Fall Division I Championship after completing league play withan undefeated 7-0-1 overall mark.The DI title will see the boys compete in the USYS National Cup forthe Spring 2012 season, competing at the highest level of play againstPremier, State Classic and top DI-level teams for a chance to win aSouth Texas state championship and advance to USYS Region IIIChampionships.The 97’s scored a league-high 30 goals with just 8 against, capturingthe championship with a 1-1 draw in the final game against theRattlers. 

DJCT 96B Concludes Fall with Dramatic 3-2 Win, Top-Two Finish

The DJCT 96B team wrapped up their Fall 2011 WDDOA season with adramatic 3-2 come-from-behind victory against the Red Wings to securea 2nd place finish in the DI standings and a place in the Spring 2012USYS National Cup.The U16’s went into their last game tied in the standings with the RedWings and found themselves down 2-0 at halftime.  A tie would see theRed Wings secure the 2nd spot based on goal differential, so a victorywas the only way to finish in the top two. The 96’s went on to scorethree goals in the 2nd half to finish the Fall campaign with a 6-1-1overall mark.

DJCT 96G finish strong after impressive season

DJCT 96G won both of their showcase games in the Sports Source Showcase played in Dallas on Dec 3rd and 4th, 2011.  They won 3 to 1 in both games against very solid competition!

Fall 2011 Season they also:

  • Won the Pre-Labor Day Tournament

  • Had a record of 6W  1L 1T in regular DI play (scored 17 goals and allowed only 4)

  • Kaitlyn Joy led the team in stats scoring 8 goals and 7 assists in regular season play!
